The Assam Society of New Zealand is committed to:

•  Empowering the next generation: We bridge the generational gap by fostering the preservation, protection and promotion of our cultural heritage amongst our youth.
• Celebrating and sharing our heritage: We organise events like Bihu celebrations and participate in broader North-East Indian cultural events to showcase our heritage to the wider New Zealand community.
• Supporting our community: We empower the Assamese and North-East Indian diaspora in New Zealand by providing resources and fostering a sense of belonging.
• Building connections: We facilitate networking and friendships among new arrivals and temporary residents from Assam and the North-East Indian region, easing their settlement process.
• Offering guidance: We provide new migrants and students from Assam and the North-East Indian region with relevant information(if necessary) regarding entitlements based on their immigration status.
• Streamlining settlement: We are continually expanding our services to ensure a smooth and successful settlement process for newcomers from Assam and the North-East Indian region.
• Embracing diversity: We raise awareness about New Zealand’s multicultural society within the Assamese and North-East Indian community, promoting respect for diversity.
• Supporting Assam’s growth: We advocate for the economic and social development of Assam and the North-East Indian region.
